A design for a natural wine store.

Three transitional spaces are conceptualised from the volcanic rock formations of Hanging Rock. Upon entering you are met with an abstraction of Hanging Rock, one that speaks directly to the brand's identity. As you move through the store, and reach the micro bar, the concept is peeled back by one layer, to reveal it's volcanic appearance. As you enter the last space, the concept is completely uncovered, exposing its simplest form.

Materiality and colour aid the conceptual multiplicitous journey.

FACADE

The facade encloses the interior, offering a hint of the brand, whilst concealing the structure within.

MAIN RETAIL SPACE

An imitation of Hanging Rock creeps its way up the interior walls. Energetic shelving juts out, directing you to follow. The space houses products with ease, the products become part of the anatomy of the space.

MICRO BAR & POS

A cavernous space that houses a point of sale, and a micro bar. Both appear to be hewn from the vertical surfaces. The micro bar offers an intimate space in which to sample wines with no distractions, whilst the point of sale uses the brand’s signature neon pink as way finding within the dark space.

EVENTS ROOM

Rough textural elements combine in the lightest shades to create a learning space. The room is synonymous with the style of wine on offer.
